So the other day a very special friend arrived on my doorstep with Turkish delight and soba noodles. An odd combination I grant you but what can I say – to know me is to love me 🙄😆. I then spoke to an old school friend who I have recently connected with who has planned a day out for our joint birthdays – we are two weeks apart. Given that these are just a few of the acts of kindness that seemingly appear to present themselves to me time and time again, I am wondering …… what do I bring to their table? Admittedly I think I’m witty, gorgeous, intelligent and a catch 😂 😂 but seriously, perhaps my gift to others is hidden because I can’t find it anywhere…..
Joking aside, it’s funny how the symptoms of menopause can have you questioning your mortality, your self worth and your lifestyle. I’ve lost loved ones and had very traumatic relationships over the past 30 years so perhaps I have unwittingly created “family” in my friendships to compensate for my losses. Somewhere along the line I have nurtured the most unlikely attachments that have bought me joy, support and above all else love ❤️ and in many cases these attachments have saved me. Over and over and over again.
