Once upon a time…….

There was a pretty young woman who worked hard, shopped hard and played hard. She had lots of suitors and friends and the only thing she needed to remember at night was to set her alarm and take off her makeup.

Several years, two children, nine house moves, a degree and two divorces later she found herself single, leaving post it notes on windows to remind herself where she left her car keys, what she’s supposed to be doing that morning/afternoon/evening and counting tablets and sachets for her pill box. Before bed she has to remember to take said medication, put her heat pad for back pain on the bed and double check the door key isn’t still in the front door on the outside…..

What happened? It feels like I’ve leaped from hot young thing to greying and exhausted, shoe horning myself into inappropriately tight outfits to go out for cocktails at 5pm because I have to be home by 8 pm and in bed soon after. How did I exchange sex and stilettos for candy crush, a kindle, cosy pyjamas and master chef? Sorry if I’m beginning to sound like a broken record but I’ve come out of the denial phase of mid life ready to embrace “the change” but clinging onto the soles of those stilettos and refusing to settle for vaginal dryness and an early night ….. with a heat pad. I will persevere with my plan to sparkle my way forward, add a good dose of regular hot sex and engage myself on new activities and challenges! Who’s with me?!! Time to “rascal up” 😉😉😉
