You are what you eat…..

Sardines …. Mmmm

After a week filled with positive at work but negative health issues, I have decided that I am going to eat healthier – I’m pretty good most of the time – but not good enough considering the huge transition my body will be making over the next 10 years.

I’m still clinging onto fragments of gorgeousness and youth but in a more mature manner (I hope) although on dropping by a friends house today her first comment was “are you dressed in your daughters clothes?”

Ok so this mature approach is a work in progress ….

But seriously, eating habits do require constant modification to suit lifestyle patterns, changes in health outcomes and of course, age.

So in order to avoid supplements from pharmacies and supermarkets (I don’t care how many bogof’s are bog’d off) one has to RESEARCH. Look at what your buying vs what you need vs what you can eat instead (that will most likely be better for you anyway).

Do you need omega 3 supplements? Does the amount include the correct dose needed? Does it have extra vitamin A? Will that add to the vitamin A you’ve already had today unwittingly overdosing you?

Chances are many of you won’t know or will now flurry off to check.

Back to my picture of very unappetising sardines. No they don’t look appealing in a tin. No they don’t look like the bbq sardines on the Spanish chiringuita menu that overlooks the beach. Yes they stink. And…. Yes, they are very very good for you and cost under 50p per tin.

2 tins a week (and you can see it’s a small tin) is all the omega 3 I need and some added extra vits to boot. Beats a load of cash on a daily tablet that’s full of other **** you don’t need.

In my very humble opinion of course.
